Terms and conditions.
The terms of use for this website, and our conditions of acceptance for advertisements and inserted material.
These Terms of Use, together with any documents referred to here, set out the terms under which you may use this website, ice-cream.org ("Our Site"). Your agreement to these terms is deemed to occur upon your first use of Our Site, and you will be asked to accept them when signing up for an account. If you do not agree to them, you must stop using Our Site. Links to other sites may appear on Our Site; unless expressly stated, we do not control those sites and accept no responsibility for their content.
Liability and disclaimers
Nothing on Our Site constitutes advice on which you should rely; it is provided for information only. We make reasonable efforts to keep Our Site's content complete, accurate and up to date, but make no guarantee that it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from use of, or inability to use, Our Site or its content. If you are a business user, we exclude all implied warranties and will not be liable for loss of profits, business, goodwill or any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here excludes our liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Viruses, malware and security
We take reasonable care to keep Our Site secure and free from malware. You are responsible for protecting your own hardware and software. You must not introduce viruses or other harmful material, attempt to gain unauthorised access to Our Site or any connected system, or attack Our Site by denial of service or similar means. Breaching this may be a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990, and we will cooperate fully with law enforcement in such cases.
Acceptable use
You may only use Our Site lawfully. You must not use it for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose, to transmit viruses or harmful code, or to harm any person. Content you submit must not be obscene, hateful, defamatory, threatening, deceptive, or infringe anyone's rights or privacy, and must not misleadingly imply affiliation with us. We may suspend or terminate your access, remove content, issue a warning, take legal action, or disclose information to law enforcement in response to a breach of this policy.
Privacy and cookies
Use of Our Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Use by reference.
Changes to these terms
We may alter these Terms of Use at any time; changes will be highlighted at the top of this page and become binding on your first use of Our Site afterwards. Where any conflict arises between versions, the current version prevails unless stated otherwise.

You may not link to Our Site from a site containing unlawful, offensive or infringing material.
Conditions of acceptance for advertisements and inserted material
These conditions apply to all advertisements in, or material inserted with, any ICA publication — including this website, Ice Cream magazine, and any other periodical the ICA produces. The Advertiser is the party who books the space and is responsible for payment; the Publisher is the Ice Cream Alliance.
- The copyright in all advertisements belongs to the Advertiser, or is licensed to the Advertiser, who indemnifies the Publisher against any copyright claim arising from material they submit.
- All advertisements must comply with the British Code of Advertising Practice, and be legal, decent, honest and truthful.
- The Publisher may refuse, amend or withdraw any advertisement at its absolute discretion, without explanation, and is not liable for loss arising from an error, late publication, or failure of an advertisement to appear, except where caused by the Publisher's own negligence resulting in death or personal injury.
- Series discounts apply to orders placed in advance and completed within 12 months of first insertion; an incomplete series may be surcharged.
- Cancellations, stop-orders or transfers must be received at least 35 days before insertion for black and white advertisements, or 12 weeks for colour or special positions (or the publication's copy deadline if later). A 50% charge may apply to cancellations made on or after the copy date.
- Copy must be supplied by the copy date; if it is not, the Publisher may repeat the previous issue's copy. Copy exceeding the space ordered will be charged pro rata.
- The Advertiser is responsible for insuring any artwork or material supplied. After six months, the Publisher may dispose of it without further notice.
- Credit terms (account holders only) are net, due within 30 days of the publication date; overdue accounts may be suspended and incur interest at 1.5% per month.
- Neither party is liable to the other for loss caused by events beyond their control, including strikes, civil unrest, fire or force majeure.
- Complaints about the reproduction of an advertisement must be received in writing within one calendar month of the cover date. The Publisher cannot accept responsibility for the accuracy of supplied copy.
