The ICA Gets Active!
After the success of 2011's five-a-side football tournament, the ICA decided to go a step further for 2012 and all in the name of fun, came up with the idea of 'human table football'. The football pitch itself was an inflatable surround with poles which the players are attached to, just like the real version of table football.
After the teams were picked, they huddled into their groups to discuss tactics and the fun began. the rules of the game were read out and understood (by most!) before kick off. Now table football is exactly as it suggests. You are not free to run around the pitch as such. You are attahced to a pole by your hands with another member of your team and you really have to work hard as a team to get results. As one team member found out, if you couldn't keep up, you lose your balance and get dragged around the floor like a rag doll!
After several games, the 'England' team were crowned the champions much to Maggie Rush's delight. The Scottish team also did extremely well, but then king Cone does take his football very seriously. For those of you who watched the tournament, I'm sure you'll agree that it was great fun and everyone is waiting with baited breath to see what the ICA HQ has planned for 2013!
