2011 Exhibitor Awards Best Small Stand - Coffee and Ice Congratulations to all the winners & thank you to all the exhibitors that took part in the competitions. Well done to all the entrants who participated in 2011 National Ice Cream Competition.
The Marvin Benton Award 2011 Each year the Ice Cream Alliance awards in honour of the memory of Marvin Benton, Past President 1998-99, the 'Marvin Benton Award' by recognizing the outstanding and continued contribution that an individual has made to the Ice Cream industry and the Ice Cream Alliance. The 2011 award went to the very deserving Judith Noble, and this is what she had to say; "I wish to let readers know how very honoured and appreciative I am to have been awarded the Marvin Benton Award by the National Executive Council. Marvin was a respected past President who represented the Midland division on the NEC and it was indeed the Midland division, jointly with the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire branch, which commisioned the award in Marvins memory. Since then several most respected members have been given the same honour and I am humbled to follow in their footsteps. It was way back in 1962 when the late Rodney Relph introduced me and my then employer Ray Gumery, to the Ice Cream Alliance. I would never have thought I would still be so involved. I have certainly thoroughly enjoyed my association with this wonderful trade which has brought me so many loyal friendships. What more could I ask for? I will tresure the Marvin Benton Award until it is time to hand it over for the next person to be honoured as I have been." Judith Noble Divisional Secretary, Midland Division |
